The Challenge

Late last year, an international startup approached us with a highly specific task—not just to find a Senior Flutter Developer, but someone with the potential to lead. The developer had to be more than just a senior engineer. They needed to analyze independently, set tasks, and offer creative solutions. On top of that, they required strong communication skills to connect with the CEO, tech leads, product managers, and the rest of the team.

The difficulties we faced

As with most startups, the situation changed rapidly during the recruitment process. The company restructured its tech leadership and even shifted focus from a new project to improving an existing product that required a complete redesign. Adapting to these changes while continuing the search was challenging, but we remained flexible and determined.

Moreover, finding a Senior Flutter developer posed a unique challenge. Flutter, being a relatively new technology (with its first stable version launched in 2018), meant finding a developer with 5+ years of experience was almost impossible. Most developers only began adopting Flutter around 2020. To overcome this, we expanded our search to include developers with strong native development backgrounds (iOS/Android) who had transitioned to Flutter in recent years.

However, a minimum of 3 years of Flutter experience remained a key factor.
